EHS hosts Health Fair

By Janaka Kobs and Chloe Hawley

A health and wellness fair was held at Eldorado this Wednesday.

The fair provided a lot of information about health, set up through multiple booths around the courtyard. Students were to attend different booths with a sheet of paper and get stamps on the paper. As soon as they received six stamps, they were to take their paper to Activities in order to be entered in a drawing to win prizes.

One booth was ran by Jared Fitch, from Defined Fitness on Juan Tabo. His booth’s message was that at this age, health is extremely important to take care of, and that people high school age should be comfortable in their own body.

“Yeah, I think it’s especially important at this age where you can be very easily influenced by other people, to be more comfortable in your own body,” said Fitch.

Other than the stamps, the attractions at the fair were petting horses, sitting in a police car or fire truck, and yoga.

“I think (the health fair is) very interesting. I think, in my opinion, it was a really good idea, because there are kids who are not doing so well and have low self-esteem. I mean, they just, kids aren’t doing great, in these ages, I guess,” said Hannah Irwin.
