Eisenhower students, alumni join together to sing one more song

By Samantha Benjey

On December 12, at Eisenhower Middle School, the Eisenhower Choir held their Winter Choir Concert in their main gym.

At the end of their concert, filled with songs of holiday cheer, William Gonzales, the choir director, requested that former Eisenhower choir students join in with the rest of the middle school choir to help them sing “One Candle”.

“It was an emotional alternate world experience,” said Kenna Mcbride, an eighth-grade member of Eisenhower’s Concert Choir and Five Star Show Choir.

Former choir students, now attending La Cueva, Eldorado, and Sandia were joined together once more with their middle school peers to sing a song they all knew by heart.

Eldorado freshman Connor Swayden was one of the many former Eisenhower choir students who had the opportunity to join in and sing “One Candle”.

“I really enjoyed hearing their voices again, seeing how they grew,” said Swayden in an interview. “It was fun to sing again.”
